Introducing Project Zei – The Exhibition!

INTRODUCING… Project Zei – The Exhibition!

With Project Zei well under way, we have been super busy behind the scenes making sure things are ticking over, thinking of more ways we can put St. Helens on the map and getting stuck back into our own creative practice during our residencies over in Stuttgart. As a result, we are now thrilled to announce our very first ‘duo’ exhibition!

‘Zei’ – the exhibition, will showcase our creative collaborative exchange project between our much loved home town St. Helens and it’s German sister city, Stuttgart and  will inform and give insight into hidden and unseen archival documentation and photography stretching back 70 years when the towns were first twinned.

The exhibition, to be held in the heart of St. Helens at The Godfrey Pilkington Gallery, World of Glass, will document the culmination of our research and development of Project Zei to date as we intend for Zei to be a long standing project for both towns.

We are excited to say that as well as our own artwork, the exhibition will now also include a generous collection of original ands intriguing artwork from 60 Stuttgart artists, generously donated as a gift to St. Helens from our partner organisation in Stuttgart, GEDOK Haus, a 150th birthday present, if you will!

As some of you may know 2018 is a very special year for St. Helens as it celebrates its 150th birthday as a borough. We’re very grateful to have Project Zei coincide with the town’s celebrations as this year also marks the anniversary of St. Helens and Stuttgart twinning 70 years ago.

We are super keen to celebrate the long standing friendships and connections made all these years ago between the two towns and are very passionate about maintaining and strengthening these ties for the future.

We hope you can all celebrate this special anniversary with us by joining us at our exhibition at The Godfrey Pilkington Gallery, World of Glass from May 12th 2018!
